Working as an independent business owner, I’m often reminded of my own family history. In 1962, as a first-generation-American immigrant, my grandfather opened The Italian Villa in Venice, Floria. For over 30 years, he cooked, answered the phone, greeted customers, waited tables, handled the register, and endeared himself to countless customers. He was the definition of never having met a stranger. I’m biased, but he was the kindest, hardest working, and most inspiring man I’ve ever known.
Now 30+ years since the restaurant closed, generations of Venice, Florida natives still recall how they felt dining at the Italian Villa. And, that’s my approach: a genuine focus on how you want your customers to feel to afford them the same authentic experience online as they would have in person.
Long before computers, the internet, or email, Vittorio Pasquale Bo embodied this spirit. Rest assured, while it’s in my blood, I’m much better with technology.
